The Barney Road Golf Course will officially open on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at 10:00 AM for the 2020 season with newly instituted COVID-19 safety measures.

In order to reduce personal interaction between golfers and staff, golfers are being directed to pre-pay their greens fees prior to their arrival at the course. Golfers can go to www.cliftonpark.org where there will be a link to direct them where to pay with instructions.

Upon arriving at the course, golfers will be directed by signs where to drop off their greens fee receipt. There will be a receptacle to leave online receipts and checks by the side window of the starter’s shack. If they did not prepay, they will have an opportunity to write a check and drop it off in the collection basket. Golfers will be reminded to wait their turn to the first tee in six feet intervals which will be marked on pathway.

The Town of Clifton Park and Golf Course staff will be following guidelines mandated by New York State and the United States Golf Association. Among the guidelines that Barney Road Golf Course will be following include:

• No handcarts will be available for rent to prevent the transmission of infection.

• The clubhouse will be closed until further notice.

• Rakes and ball washers are being removed from the course.

• Golfers are asked to leave the flagstick in the hole.

• A raised cup will be used on putting greens so players will not have to reach into the cup.

• Golfers are asked to follow social distancing while playing and stay at least 6 feet away from others

The Course

Built in Clifton Park’s oldest residential neighborhood in 1966 by the Van Patten Family, the Barney Road Golf Course is an executive par-3 golf course located just minutes from Clifton Park’s Exit 9 area. The Barney Road Golf Course features 1,331 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 28. The golf course was purchased by the Town of Clifton Park in 2010.

The Barney Road Golf Course’s short layout will reward good shots and provide a fun golf outing for everyone. The golf course is open seven days a week beginning in the spring, weather permitting. The course opens at 8 a.m. daily and closes at varying times throughout the season.

The Town of Clifton Park’s Barney Road Golf Course is excellent for beginner golfers, golfers up to challenging their short game and golfers with limited time. A number of leagues and special events are held at the Barney Road Golf Course throughout the golf season. Greens Fees

During the current environment, all green fees will be uniform regardless of age and/or status.

$12 for 9 holes
$17 for 18 holes.
